Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen did well at athletics and enjoyed rough, physical sports. This passion was combined with an equally natural gift for performing. As evidenced by receiving nearly every Feis award in drama or the stage that her country had to offer. In the year 14 she was accepted into the world-renowned Abbey Theater and pursued her dream of classical theater and operatic vocals. Charles Laughton was mesmerized after seeing a Maureen screen examination. He was fascinated by her beautiful eyes. In the days before she was cast to play in Jamaica Inn (1939), Laughton together with his friend, Erich Pommer, changed her name instead of Maureen FitzSimons to "Maureen O'Hara" which was a little less slender name to be used for the marquee. Under contract to Laughton and Erich Pommer, her following film was set to be shot at home in America (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (1939)) at RKO Pictures. Maureen had the opportunity to purchase her contract from Laughton following the film's success. an immense success. When she was 19, Maureen had already starred in two motion picture majors with Laughton.
